There are so many instrument panels currently available, that sometimes it can be tough to know which one is the right one for you. The instrument panel on your car can easily be replaced, making it easier than ever to customize your car and your driving experience.

Race Car Gauges

Race cars use a different set of gauges when compared to that of standard transportation. The gauge itself usually sits in a polished aluminum frame, to keep it safe when approaching high speeds. This type of gauge uses lights to alert the user when they are approaching speeds outside of the normal operating range. This design is purposely made so the driver can see the light without having to pay much attention to the dashboard, making it a more practical option for the driving experience. Some sports cars also contain this type of gauge; however this is mostly for show as opposed for practical reasons.

Traditional Car Gauges

Traditional cars also contain instrument cluster lights; however these are normally hidden behind the unit. These lights come on when there is a problem, such as an engine fault or overheating. Most cars combine digital displays with a traditional gauge. Although some of the information may be displayed digitally, most of the operation runs off a traditional design. Some cars do have a complete digital set up, however these are normally limited to the more expensive cars on the current market.

Finding a Gauge That Suits your Needs

The most important thing about choosing your gauge is that you find one that suits you. You need a  gauge to where you can instantly understand, which will differ from person to person. For example, a 2004 Silverado instrument cluster may have a lighted red display. However, another car may use blue. If you find red distracting on the road, then you should avoid this type of display. Whatever type of display you choose, you should always make sure that it contains enough information to keep both you and your vehicle safe at all times. This includes a temperature level and a pressure gauge, because although you may not use it all the time, it can work wonders when you’re trying to identify a problem within your car.
