Many people like to put up flags on their trucks and cars. Flags are a great way to showcase your passion and devotion to a cause. For instance, if you are patriotic about the country, you can put up the American flag on your truck. However, putting up a flag on a truck is not as simple as it might seem. You will need to purchase and install a custom truck assembly before you can install the flag. Using duct tape to fix the pole into position isn’t a wise move, because the wind and air resistance will simply pull the flag off the car.

Purchasing a Truck Assembly

You will need to purchase custom truck assemblies in Dallas, TX that must be fitted on the truck before installing the flag. Companies such as Symonds Flags & Poles, Inc. offer a variety of different options, like both internal and external halyard assemblies that can be used for fixing the flag into position.

How Does It Work?

Truck assemblies are made from cast aluminum and have a heavy nylon sheave which can easily slip over the top of the flagpole. This helps keep the flag in position and prevents it from falling off. The single sheave truck assembly can be used on flagpoles with a diameter of 3 ½”. The double sheave truck assemblies are slightly bigger, and can be used on flagpoles as big as 4”. The maximum recommended diameter for the halyard is 5 /16”.

The assemblies must be properly aligned in place. You should take your truck to a mechanical workshop to get the flagpole assembly installed. This will ensure that the assembly doesn’t fall off while driving at high speeds.
