What does the Missouri Lemon Law do?

The lemon law requires that companies who make vehicles keep good on their promise by replacing or refunding any defective vehicle they sell. Of course, there are criteria that must be followed and steps that must be taken for that to happen. The law protects purchased and lease purchased vehicles under a new vehicle warranty.

What Vehicles are not Covered?

   * Mopeds
   * Off road vehicles
   * Motorcycles
   * The living quarters of any motor homes or recreational vehicles

What Must be Done?

In order to file a claim under the Missouri lemon law, the following must have happened.

   * Your car must have been out of service for 30 business days or longer
   * There must have been four failed attempts to fix the car for the same problem
   * You have to file a formal notice, which is sent to the company, after these steps have been taken. The company then has 10 days to try to fix the problem

These are just a few of the facts that you should know about Missouri lemon laws. If you have satisfied the requirements above and still need help, contact the professionals at the Krohn & Moss, Ltd. Consumer Law Center® for more information and help with the problem.
