Are you doing a Bible study on Revelation but you are still confused on some points? If the facts just don’t seem to add up, then you are correct in that you are in fact missing something. You may be wanting to get the facts right away but going to a church or a follower of the church may yield more confusing answers. It’s better to go to an independent source to find all of the facts you need to know. Then you can see differing points of view that can prove helpful to you.
Revelations Chapter 1 – Exploring the facts
Jesus Christ gave a message to his disciples that was to address the seven different churches in Asia. This address spoke of incidents which would soon occur. However this message has been taken out of context and applied to an imminent future that will never come in this present day. Revelation 1:1-4 ESV is where this message can be found which describes a message to seven churches which occurred over 2,000 years ago. Since the message says that the time is coming soon, it is essential to put this in perspective.
Who was this message for?
This message was addressed specifically to people in seven churches in Asia. If the message was specifically for them, then why would present day people assume that the message is also for them? This is common sense that many people simply don’t take the time to consider. When you join or start a Bible study on Revelation, you can be sure that they may not discuss this point so it is essential that it is brought up. The more one can spread this concept, the more people will understand the context that the message was written in.
A Bible Study on Revelation is just what you need when it comes to understanding the truth of the Bible. Although you may be confused about what really will happen in the future, the facts are out there and can be found with a bit of research.
