A Rosemount magnetic flow meter and the Rosemount 8732 transmitter can be paired for use in a wide variety of different applications. This is a flow meter that is effective in measuring high volume types of systems, including wastewater systems, for power plant applications, and for use in large scale production processes in the food and beverage industries.

In addition to being effective, accurate, and designed for a long duty cycle with no maintenance, this is also a meter that can provide its own calibration verification. The diagnostics in the meter are pre-configured to provide the necessary verifications in any type of application. The system stores the readings and values of those currently detected in the meter and provides the necessary calibration verification. This means that the measurements are plus or minus one percent of the parameters set up to meet the requirements of the specific system.

Full Diagnostics on Board

While calibration verification is essential, the Rosemount 8732 also provides a full range of other diagnostics. These diagnostics are run automatically, with the meter system sending messages if any results are outside of the normal parameters.

This makes troubleshooting both the meter and the system a much easier task. Operators can see if there is a coil fault, empty pipe, or even a wiring or grounding fault that is creating performance or reading problems in the meter and the system.

Easy Installation

The Rosemount 8732 sensor is always installed in-line, and it can be positioned either in a horizontal or vertical orientation. The transmitter itself can be positioned at the location of the sensor, or it can be remotely mounted, making this an extremely practical application for a flow meter even in hazardous working environments or in difficult to access locations.
