Faucets are the accessory items of the bathroom. The compliment the main design. So, replacing them is often a check-list item during a remodel or a simple update. However, installing them is not as simple as it first appears. Difficulties about installation can happen in one of these situations.
Sometimes, faucets are picked up for their style rather than the practicality of how they are going to fit into the sink. Transitioning from two operating handles to a single handle can pose a few challenges. This is generally a very tight space in which to make sure the system is water tight underneath the sink.
It is fairly common to just upgrade the faucet rather than updating the entire vanity and sink. Updates in design and features may have changed the size of fittings available on the faucet. Sometimes, these fittings have to be changed to ensure a watertight seal is established. This can be difficult if the plumbing under the sink hasn’t been updated in awhile.
Acquiring the proper clearance can also be difficult with a Faucet Installation. Some of the newer designs have longer necks than in the past. This means adjustments may have to be made to the piping in order to ensure they have the proper clearance for operation. The height of the sink may also make a difference. If the sink is set on top of the vanity rather than sunk into the counter top, the extra height may require extending piping lines behind the wall before the faucet goes in.
While faucet installations are typically seen as quick projects, there are some situations that pose a challenge. Transitions in design, new upgrades and establishing proper clearance can be challenging to the installation process.
