Here at The MAX Challenge, we think we are a great gym. We have departed from the traditional gym model to provide more of a whole-body wellness concept that our clients love. By combining elements of personal training with nutritional guidance, we help our clients achieve the results that they want. However, as great as we think we are, we also know that we are not the right gym for everybody. The purpose of this post is to help you find the right gym for you, even if it is not our gym. That is because our goal to help people improve their personal fitness and health is not limited to our clients, alone.

  1. Location, location, location. Choose a gym that is near your home or by your work. Are you a commuter whose work and home are far apart? Then consider when workouts will actually fit into your schedule and pick your location accordingly.
  2. Timing is everything. Before you commit to a gym, visit when you plan to workout. Is the gym so packed that you can’t work out? Does it offer the classes you want at the times you need?
  3. Gym culture is key. Are you a hard-body who wants to hang out with other fitness pros, an insecure person getting into a gym for the first time, or a person who thrives on the competition? Different gyms have different cultures; you want to pick a gym where you feel comfortable enough to spend time there.
  4. Access to the pros. Even if you do not plan on getting a personal trainer, make sure your gym either offers personal trainers or will let you work out with a personal trainer at the facility. You never know when you might want the extra help.

Think The MAX Challenge might be the right gym for you? Stop by our Staten Island Arthur Kill, NY location to check us out.
