The pressure of the stress is distributed all throughout the foam core, eliminating the intensive and fixed stress on standard tape that causes failure.
Simple Tips
When using 3M double coated tape, make sure the parts are free from any dust and debris. This includes the vehicle surface. Remove any rust, paint flakes or even grease and oil residue to ensure the tape adheres correctly to the surfaces.
Try peeling the tape from the middle to the edges over long runs. This keeps the tape correctly positioned and ensures the part and the tape stay in correct alignment for secure positioning.
It will also be important to apply the tape with the ambient temperature within the recommended parameters. This will ensure a solid attachment that will be durable and effective within just a few seconds after the application of the tape.
