The brake bonding adhesive for lining refers to a rough material which is always installed on the brake pads. It helps cars stop when the brakes are applied by use of friction and force. The sturdy material is usually forced against the disc depending on the brake type and aims to have the car stopped within a specified time. The lining material will always wear off after some period of time depending on the nature of the material used, and will have to be replaced urgently in order to achieve proper braking. At Raybestos Powertrain, we have brake bonding adhesive that fits many types of brakes so you can order the adhesive you need to fix the brakes on your particular vehicle.

Reapplying the Adhesive
When you are replacing the brake lining, you will always be required to dismantle the entire braking system. This task is however considered to be a very arduous process. It is recommended for one to always wear safety glasses, gloves, and a facemask in order to be protected against the components that you will be interacting with during the process. Always read the instructions before you use any type of device, tool or car part. You also need to check all of the brake components to ensure that they are not damaged. Ensure you have parked the car on an even surface before you begin working on the brakes.

Removing the Tire
You need to loosen the nuts that secure the tire to the drive shaft. Get a very comfortable position to work on and use enough force to have the nuts loosen. Raise the car on its jack after loosening the bolts and use your hand to remove all the nuts. Pull out the tire carefully by lifting it a bit and placing it against the wall. Always make sure that you put on your gloves while removing the car tire. This protects your fingers from the tough rubber and the sharp metal.

Dissecting the Brake
The brakes are typically made up of the service compartment which can be accessed only when the brake cover is removed. The brake cover is put in place but nuts which are always removed using a wrench in order to access the brake pads. If you notice that any of these parts have sustained damage, you should order new parts from us immediately.

Replacing the Brake Lining
Use the manufacturer instructions to remove the old lining. Clean the brake using a brake cleaner and once this is done apply sparing amounts of the bonding adhesive, which is a very strong adhesive that needs to be cured to ensure the bonding is done correctly.
